Central Heating Installation - choosing a new boiler
You wouldn’t put a fiesta car engine in a MPV, would you?
In like manner, it would be silly to install a combi into a large family house with two bathrooms and an en-suite shower room. Likewise, a large hot water cylinder wouldn’t be required in a two bedroom flat where a combi-boiler would do.
There are many brands to choose from when you have selected what type of boiler you need. My preference is to choose a boiler with a good track record, which is easy to service and maintain, efficient and once installed, will not give problems.
Spare a thought for the availability of replacement parts. Look for a guarantee with a good warranty on the boiler combustion chamber. If a manufacturer's service engineer is based locally all the better. Not every installer can guarantee a year-round emergency service or will be available to drop everything to attend a breakdown.
